Fargo isn’t a hail town first. It’s an ice town.
Something like 49 inches of snow a year and a hundred-plus freeze-thaw cycles mean the thing that kills a roof here usually isn’t one storm — it’s February. Meltwater runs down a warm roof, hits the cold overhang, freezes, and backs up under the shingles. The leak shows up on the ceiling in March and the homeowner blames the shingles, which are usually fine. It’s the attic.
